"bee, why are you staring at me? i am not a flower."
today is strange, i drive around town and everyone is on trips to other places. i feel stupid for calling them. i say to myself, "taxicrabs and murdercycles", as i try to find a good radio station. i picture my mom, home from florida and on my couch watching the news and talking to the dog.
today at a stoplight, there was a car behind me with an elderly couple inside. i saw them laughing through my rear view mirror. who knows what about, or cares. i fell in love with them for the few minutes that the light was telling me to not drive. right now, samurai cat is meowing at my legs and my mom is asleep on the couch with the tv on, grinding her teeth. the car's in the driveway and the old people with their old people car are probably home now too, safe in their sheets or under a soft glowing lamp in their chairs.
tomorrow should be nice, i think. |

The heat makes my skin stick to skin, but it really doesn't matter. I have two red marks on my right hand to remind me of today. I'm feeling strange and happy about summertime and right now. Fantastic Newness.

My tent today, made me realize that I want to go camping soon. Preferably on the Appalacian Trail near the rock chairs so I can wake up and watch the morningtime come over the mountains and spill into the valley. Some friends and I can cook a breakfast over the fire and rub our groggy morning heads. Then wash our teeth with water from jugs. I'm completely serious about this and anyone who wants to do it soon knows how to get a hold of me. |
